SBMA National Conference 2017 – All You Need to Know

The School Business Managers Association is holding their 2nd National Conference at the four-star Southern Sun Hotel at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg on Thursday and Friday 18-19 May 2017. After a very successful first event, this 2-day event is planning on once again providing a dynamic and engaging conference to Principals and school business managers.

What the SBMA is

The School Business Managers’ Association (SA) is a professional membership organisation for those responsible for school financial administration and management at public schools. The SBMA was established in 2008 to address the professional needs at public schools.

Principals and finance staff encounter many challenges and day to day difficulties at their schools. It has become increasingly evident that they need a professional home where they can network and resolve the many questions they face. Their membership includes Principals, School Business Managers, Bursars, Finance Officers, Administrators, Admission Clerks and others who fulfil this important role. The association is run by Business Managers who are full-time employees at their respective schools. Find out more about the SBMA here.

What the conference is all about

This is the SBMA’s 2nd National Conference and will be held at the four-star Southern Sun Hotel at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg.

The Conference starts on Thursday 18 May 2017 at 08:00. Delegates that will make use of air travel are encouraged to arrive at the airport the day before on 17 May 2017.  A shuttle service to the venue is available from outside the InterContinental Hotel (Opposite International arrival hall). Check in time is from 14:00.

The conference covers a full two days of industry leading talks, opportunities to connect with other business managers, a full gala dinner event as well as entertaining presentations to inspire school business and finance managers.

And at only R1500.00 per person, the 2-day event is a steal!!  The accommodation for SBMA members has been generously discounted by the hotel and further discounted by the SBMA to only R1000.00 per person including breakfast per day.  Sharing rates also available at R1625.00 per room (max 2 persons).
